Piggy is in Lord of the Flies the most vulnerable among all the boys in the novel who possesses poor eyesight and human frailties. He uses to advice to other member of the group by his intellectual behavior. He tried to counsel Ralph by his wise ideas. He was not made the leader of the group because he was not having leadership qualities like Ralph. He remains in the background of the events but guide them properly in order to benefit other.

Critical analysis, Character sketch of piggy in the novel lord of the flies he also claims to be civilized member of the group because he shows some civilized actions during the course of the novel. He belongs to the lower social class in comparison to the other member of the group. He seems to be wiser, thoughtful and mature in his dealings and behavior with the other boys at the deserted island. He is an asthmatic boy and seems to be dull and lazy occasionally. He was first to hint that the boys are in danger if there comes no adult to rescue and save them at the island. He uses to think rationally and in a unique manner which the other characters in the novel can’t possess. He hints that the boys can be uncivilized if there will be no one to rescue and guide them. He suggests that there should be specific rules for them to be organized and civilized in as uniform manner. He also suggest about the laws of punishment if someone breaks the laws of the tribe on the deserted island.  He was always busy in spoiling the fun of other boys that is why boys do not like him. The little boys always remained busy in playing games and making fun but piggy does not like their routine. He looks different from the other members physically because he looks fat and have ailment of asthma. His real name is unknown throughout the novel and somehow id identified as the pig by the rest of the members of the group. He was killed by the member of the group with great force and nobody gives value to him.

As far as Critical analysis, Character sketch of piggy in the novel lord of the flies is concerned he was the victim of the brutality of the members of the group. He was a victim of the brutality of the members of the group during the course of the novel. Only Ralph gives value to his personality and ideas. He used to take interest in ideas presented by him for the betterment of other members. He helps in building shelter for the group members. He also suggests that they should light fire as a signal on the mountain so that they can be rescued if there is any plane passing from the mountains. The character of piggy is made symbolic of intellect and rationalism in the novel lord of the flies. He also suggests that they should prepare a list which will contain the details about the names of the boys who are living on the deserted island.

At last but not least Critical analysis, Character sketch of piggy in the novel lord of the flies suggests that he proposed the idea that this list will help them to know about the participants of the meeting. He offers the idea that everyone should try to live a organized and civilized life so that the members can’t ruin their precious time in making fun and playing. He follows and depicts the rational side of the human nature and presents his vision guided by his intellect. He was interested in helping the humanity by his ideas and to solve the problems that were faced by the members at their stay on the deserted island. He was the only member who was worried about the laws and civilization of his society.
